Comment: Works a lot better than expected. I have thick, african american hair. For a quick beachy waves look, it took about 15 minutes for my medium length hair. I'm really happy with it. It's easy to use, I didn't burn myself, and it looks great. It's ready to go in mere minutes. It has too settings, for my hair I used the high setting.

My hair doesn't look crimpy at all. It gives you the kind of look you would get if you braided your hair at night and let it out in the morning. Loose, pretty, soft, natural waves. To get a longer lasting look, some kind of holding product is necessary, but it did easily last through the day with some remanents of waves left over the next morning. I only wished that I had taken the leap and bought it sooner because I finally have an easy way to get a wavy look and do something different with my hair sometimes, something I've been wanting to do for a very long time.

Comment: I bought this iron to wave my hair in Marcel waves like the flappers of the 20s. It didn't quite turn out that way, I looked more like a punk 80s rocker chick. It was still cute, but not quite what I was going for, personally. If you are going for volume and controlled waves, this is an incredible iron. I used it on my stepdaughter's stringy blonde hair and it looked absolutely beautiful! Full and shiny and full of volume with a wave. She even had waves in her hair the next day, and we did not use any hair product. I was impressed. The only drawback is that the handle is somewhat difficult to use without burning a hole in your arm (which I experienced). I would recommend this, as long as you aren't a clutz.

Comment: I have Asian hair, but it's thick and wavy in some parts. I was hoping this would give me loose, beachy waves, but it turned out more like crimps. I tried everything- straightening my hair before using this, using it on blow-dried clean hair, using it on wavy second-day hair, with wave spray, without wave spray. I even tried it on my sister, who has thin, straight, soft and sleek Asian hair. No go. It always came out undeniably 'fake' looking and even sort of crunchy- not soft, casual waves at all.

Comment: Pros: This waver puts beautiful waves into your hair that last ALL day with minimal product. I waved mine at 8am (spraying a little hairspray before each time I crimped it) and it lasted through a BEACH DAY. Wind blowing through it for 6 hours and it was still beautiful. THEN I slept over my friend's house and we went to an early brunch and my hair was STILL nice, though I touched it up a tad.

Cons: It takes a while to do. About twice as long as straightening hair and about 1.5 times as long as using a curling iron. It takes patience, which I don't think is the tool's fault, it's just the nature of the look you're going for.

I would DEFINITELY recommend this product, it's one of my new favorites.

Comment: Perhaps I didn't notice the size of the individual barrels but they are too small to be used on long hair. If you have short hair(way above shoulders) and wants to create a wave look then this is the tool for you
