Herstyler Onyx

I've had my Onyx for about a yr. I am a black female & wanted a good straightener for my hair. A friend let me borrow hers and I was sold after only going over a couple sections of my hair. Pros: long cord w/ swivel design so it doensn't tangle; heats up in about 1 min, & gets really hot w/ out burning my hair; the angled design really helps w/ my wrist when trying to get those sections in the back & on the sides; brings out the natural shine in my hair (other than a small amount of polisher before straightening, I don't use any products...even w/out the polisher it still shines) Cons: no temp control, after about 15 min it gets SUPER hot; no auto shut-off. I am careful & have never dropped it, have had no problems with the plates & I get so many compliments on how healthy, full of body & shiny my hair is. Great product!!

My hairstylist recently switched to this brand of flat iron from CHI. I like my CHI, but started to get frustrated with how the heat damaged my edges. I came in to get my hair done, and she surprised me with the change. The difference was IMMENSE: my hair was not only smoother and shinier, but she needed no product to straighten my hair. This is a major achievement, as my hair is very thick. My hair is now so smooth, I no longer deal with frizz!
