Summary: creates static in my hair 2008-12-17
Comment: This ghd styler does a really good job of straightening my fine hair, and it stays straight until I shampoo, but it DOES create huge static in my hair. I bought it because it claimed 'static-free'. I hate static.

Summary: Great straightener 2008-12-15
Comment: My son uses this straightener and it works very well. It doesn't burn him or the counter. It also doesn't split the ends of his hair. We had a much less expensive one before this one and I think it was well worth the money.

Summary: Love this Flat Iron! 2008-11-19
Comment: I purchased a T3 pink mini flat iron for $119 from Sephora. After reading so many glowing reviews I decided to try the GHD IV. I also purchased this from Sephora for $240 plus tax. First, as far as the warranty issue goes, my GHD IV does NOT have the hollogram tag on the cord. I've sent an email to GHD a week ago and they've yet to respond to me. I believe that Sephora is an authorized dealer and for $257 I would like to be sure it's authentic. I was so upset I went back to Sephora and checked out the other ones they have on the shelf. None of them had the hollogram. I don't know if the GHD company is messing around with things, but I find this rather suspicious. With respect to the flat iron, i decided to use both my T3 mini and the GHD (for the first time) side by side. I had planned on switching back and forth to give both an equal chance. All I can say is that the T3 did a beautiful job of straightening my hair easily. I can't attest to the T3's ability to make curls, waves etc, because I was a novice and too scared to try that. However, after the very first time I tried the GHD I found it so much easier to hold and manuever. I was concerned about the single heat setting. The T3 is adjustable, but truthfully i did not change the temperature. I just focused on my technique. Since I'm getting braver, I've managed to create curls, body, etc with the GHD. One day I managed to get my hair to look like a Victoria Secret model! But still nervous about frying my hair, I tend to put too much heat protection products on and it makes my hair too soft to hold a curl.
I live in Miami, Florida and normally we have very high humidity. Although the straightening doesn't hold up if my hair gets damp, it does do much better than blow drying alone.

Summary: Great Buy! 2008-10-10
Comment: I'm happy with my GHD. My hair always flips out at the ends but the GHD straightens it very nicely. The best item i've used so far to do the job. And the best part is I got a really good deal from Amazon. I saw the same iron at Sephora for $240. The reviews say to be careful for GHD fakes but my Amazon GHD is ligit... I was able to register it on their offical website. Thanks Amazon!

Summary: it may give you dry hair 2008-10-07
Comment: This review is for the ghd MK4.

This product definitely works, it will straighten your hair. It only has one setting and I would prefer more. It dried my hair out like another girl mentioned. I used it twice and my stylist said I had "flat iron hair". I have very long silky hair so this was not a compliment.
I've stopped using it and I've noticed a difference. Maybe if you have short hair and don't abuse it, this would work for you? If it's going to dry and burn out your hair for that price...look somewhere else.
I had an iron I got at Sally beauty store and I preferred that one. My hair actually stayed silky! It also had different settings and it never dryed my hair out like this one.

I think it's way over priced.
