The "GHD" I received was NOT factory sealed. Then the hologram sticker appeared to be peeling off. I'm not willing to spend that much money and have things seems fishy. I'll order from an authorized GHD dealer and spend the extra money.
I wanted to update this after I received my flat iron directly from GHD.
So, my GHD Gold Professional styler arrived and it was also not sealed. So that part maybe wasn't such a big deal. Not sure why GHD does not seal this product. The styler I was replacing was a GHD classic styler and when I bought that it was sealed with a sticker on both ends. So at first I though maybe I'd jumped to conclusions on the one I ordered from amazon. They looked about the same and I was even considering changing my review when I decided I should turn it on before I wrote this. Glad I did. I was scared of the possibility of the item being fake, but perhaps a few people have scared the many meaning after reading most reviews, people are receiving the real deal on this product. (it has the hologram and is able to register with the ghd website)
Onto the product, I watched my wife use this flat iron, and its definitely much faster, hotter and just does a better job than the cheapo one she had. also, the form factor is surprisingly a lot smaller than her previous iron. all in all, a great purchase, at a steal of a price compared to buying at the mall.

I love my ghd flat iron! It heats up in 30 seconds flat, makes my hair do whatever I want it to, and most importantly, it has a 30 minute safety shut down if I ever forget to switch it off. I love this flat iron and I'll never go back to CHI. I have converted multiple friends to this brand, just by letting them borrow it for a day.
