Summary: Quality !! 2010-03-05
Comment: I've had my 2" Chi Turbo for at least 5 years and I've loved it! I use it 3 to 4 times a week. My roommate has also been using it for the last 3 years. She loves it too!
I have very thick hair and lots of it. It is naturally wavy/curly but mostly just frizzy. I bought my Chi Turbo when my hair was shoulder length. Now I my hair is half-way down my back. Same results every time - smooth, straight, shiny hair. And with the Chi Turbo, I'm not afraid to venture out into the humid heat.
I love that it heats up fast. I love that the cord is very long and that it swivels at the base of the iron. I love that there's an indicator light that lets me know when it's hot enough. (Note: the ceramic plates do cool down marginally when being used, especially on thick or long hair, since the cool hair absorbs the heat.)
My Chi Turbo has had it's share of wear and tear. I never travel without it. Some of the red velvet has worn down but the plates work great and the cord is fine. (Note: be careful of placing the red velvet on a surface that is wet ie: bathroom countertop - the red dye may leach into the countertop. And I've always been careful not to let the cord stay tangled and I don't keep wrap it around the iron.)
True, if you purchase a Farouk item from a supplier that is not a salon, the company will not honour the warranty. However, I've never had a problem with mine.
I consider it one of the best purchases I've ever made. For me, it is worth every penny I spent on it.

Summary: Works like a charm 2010-02-10
Comment: I purchased the same model of Chi flatiron about 4 years ago and was very happy with it. When it finally stopped working, I decided to purchase the same model again since it seemed to be a worthwhile investment the first time.

Summary: VERY BAD FOR YOUR HAIR 2009-12-04
Comment: I've been straightening my hair for 10 years now. I understand the damages straightening can do, however I did not actually see the effects until I purchased this particular straight iron. After a couple months of use, my hair started frilling and falling out. It gets your hair pin straight, sure, but not without the cost of severe unsightly damage. I've discontinued straightening alltogether to grow parts of my hair out, and will then never purchase another CHI hair straightener again.

Summary: It's a fake Chi! 2009-09-20
Comment: This Chi Turbo is a fake Chi. I returned it and got a full refund and the people from the company are really nice, but don't waste your time ordering this product b/c it's not real.
