Comment: After reading many reviews, the good (great straightening) and the bad (be careful not to twist/swivel the cord, or the straightener will stop working, or get a short), I went ahead and purchased this straightener. WOW! Great straightener, just as reported. I like to use it with S Factor Flat Iron Shine Spray Heat Defender. It makes your hair shiny and straight, and keeps it from looking fried. I have been very careful not to bend or twist the cord. When I wrapped it, I did so loosely, and made sure the tangle-free cord swivel didn't have to swivel much. Unfortunately, it has been just a little over a year, and the straightener has stopped working. A few weeks ago, I could jiggle the cord a bit, or push the GFI button several times, and get it going. Now it's dead. I guess it was worth it though, and I can't say the death was unexpected, as many, many reviewers warned of it. SO...I will be purchasing another one as soon as I find a good price, so far the best of which I found here on Amazon. Definitely the best prices are online, not at your local retailer...

Comment: I bought a flat iron from Farouk for my daughter two weeks before Christmas. She began to use it on December 26th. January 27th the iron surged with heat, burned my daughter's hair (so that she had to cut the fried hair off) then quit working all together. Farouk said they only guarantee their products for 30 days and too bad! They would not work with me at all to replace, refund or repair the iron. I will NEVER purchase from them again!

Comment: I loooooove this flat iron! It has made my hair so beautiful and straight. I would suggest spending the extra $10 for the digital setting.

I however, do not suggest the CHI hair products. I wanted soft hair and they left my hair feeling coarse.
