ThermaCell cartridges contain butane fuel. The contents are flammable, so be sure to exercise caution, and store away from children and pets!

This review is from: Conair Cordless Curling Iron 3/4" Portable Travel NEW! (Health and Beauty) On Sunday, my Conair butane powered curling iron stopped heating. It's about 10 years old, but I've only used it regularly (2/3x week) for the last 3/4 years. I had recently purchased many thermacell refills on ebay, so was quite disappointed. I love the ability to use this anywhere without worry of finding electricity--camping and car trips are the best! Looked locally for a replacement but to no avail (small town...) Anyhow, I was very hesitant, looking at the previous review, but the price (under $10 including shipping) seemed reasonable enough to take a chance on it, and it did look a lot like my current iron. Got it in today, less than a week after ordering, and tried it out-it works great! No heating problems that I can tell-works as good as I'm used to-gets just as hot as any iron. Plus, the heat cover for my old iron fits this one as well-it was the perfect replacement. Must be an older model, but it was perfect for my needs! 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful: By nature (ca) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Conair Cordless Curling Iron 3/4" Portable Travel NEW! (Health and Beauty) I bought this for a trip to Paris back in 2009. I paid much less than the current price though. I love the size and cordless feature. It works fine with my short, coarse, straight hair. I don't curl my whole head. I only use it to straighten those annoying pieces of stick-out hair.
The reason I am posting this review today is that Home Depot has "Thermacell refills" on sale, $1.63 for one. It is located close to "Bird Feeders" section. The package cover is "Mosquito Repellent refills", they use the same size butane cartridge. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Conair Cordless Curling Iron 3/4" Portable Travel NEW! (Health and Beauty) On a trip to Paris, I needed a curling iron and didn't want to buy a converter, so I used this instead. It got hot enough to give a decent flip to my very straight hair. I will keep it in my car for touchups. |
