Summary: The wife -LOVES- this curling iron.... best ever! 2008-04-07
Comment: My wife has tried many different off-the-shelf brands of curling irons (various prices), but has not been pleased with any of them. She has fine, straight hair that is colored and somewhat delicate. Her hair won't hold a curl for long (maybe a couple hours with previous irons).
Her stylist recommended the Baybyliss Pro (albeit an older model without the Tourmaline coating, which was too new for her to know about). I contacted the seller (CacheBeauty) and asked some questions (as a guy I knew nothing about curling irons, but wanted to surprise my wife on her birthday). The seller responded promptly and was very helpful. The specs on this one slightly exceeded the specs on the older model the stylist recommended, and I couldn't find any notable bad comments on this model, so I got it.
My wive raves about how this one heats up quicker and hotter than any she's ever had, and her hair even holds the curl a little longer (maybe 3-4 hours instead of 1-2). I'd think that for a person with normal hair, the curl would probably last all day. (I'm not a hair expert, but I know my wife's hair has a much harder time holding a curl than most women's hair.)
My wife and I would HIGHLY recommend this iron, and the seller (CacheBeauty) we purchased it from (for a LOT less than the MSRP).
