Andis 67690 1-Inch Nano-Silver Tourmaline Wet or Dry Ceramic Flat Iron

Comment: I had been using the crappy drugstore straighteners. Now my hair looks like it does when I leave the salon. The ceramic protects my hair better too. No split ends yet.

Comment: I was very skeptical on whether or not a wet to dry flat iron would work on my curly hair. I had a friend who had curly hair similar to mine, and she used a wet to dry flat iron, so I was at least open to trying it. I got the Andis flat iron because it was reasonably priced. For the price, I really think it was a good value and it actually straightened my hair from root to tip.

I would not say that it is quicker than blowdrying, however. It took me the same amount of time that it takes me to blowdry my hair straight, which is one hour. Some people complained that this flat iron would turn off after an hour's use. That happened to me, and at first, I thought it was broken, because all of a sudden, there was no more heat coming off of it. I turned it off for about three minutes, then turned it back on and waited for it to heat up. Then, I was back to work.

One thing I would say for curly haired women using this product is that it should be used in conjunction with the Wigo Straightening Brush. I couldn't imagine getting the Andis to straighten my hair without the Wigo brush creating tension and pulling the hair in a straight direction.

Overall, it is a good value for the price. I don't regret the purchase and I look forward to getting better at using it.

Comment: Great little dry flat iron. Does a nice job even on my rather coarse hair and does not feel like it is being burnt.

Comment: This flat iron was good for the price. I couldn't get my hair as straight as I wanted it, nor could I get my roots, but that might have just been my technique. I did manage to go from about 50% dry 3c curls to completely dry reasonably straight hair with no damage. The iron heats up quickly, and maintains an even heat throughout usage. My only real problem with this flat iron is that the ceramic coating is incredibly thin, and started flaking off inside three months of infrequent usage.
I'd personally go with a flat iron with either thicker ceramic coating, or ideally full ceramic plates. However, if you don't mind replacing it when the coating starts chipping, it's worth a try.

Comment: The Andis flatiron was recommended to me by a friend's daughter. She said it worked great and she never had any problems with it. Having worked in the beauty supply industry for many years in the past, I knew Andis was a name with quality behind it. When I received the flat iron, I carefully read the instructions and was pleased at how simple it was to operate. I tried to duplicate the hairstyle I had gotten at the salon and to my surprise, it was actually easy! I do like the red and green LED's that tell you when it's hot and when it's heating.
